APPLICATIONS PROGRAMMER - ANALYST 1 (Temporary, Full-time)

NATURE OF POSITION: Hiring one (1) Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 position. Under the supervision of the Manager of Information Technology or designate, the Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 provides support to our internal clients and assists them with their Information Technology (IT) usage, works to resolve business application related concerns, is responsible for maintaining security and integrity of business applications and will be a key role in implementing and maintaining systems for the Regional District.

Responsibilities will include evaluating and preparing recommendations regarding the acquisition and implementation of applications, assessing and advising on system capabilities, defining and developing applications to meet user needs and ensuring that standards and procedures are adopted and followed. The Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 will also provide technical support to users including developing and conducting training, demonstrating software capabilities, and resolving user problems.

The Applications Programmer - Analyst 1 has considerable contact with users and contractors. This is a technical, and operations role requiring considerable knowledge of best practices, staff development and operations. While under supervision, there may be times when independent judgement and action is exercised in the technical aspects of the work; errors in the work could have a disruptive impact on the organization.

RATE OF PAY: $42.31 per hour (January 1, 2026 rate)

START DATE: August 15, 2026

END DATE: August 15, 2027
