What you'll do:
SUMMARY:
TheApplication Engineer position is responsible for acting as the technicalinterface between the business units and engineering, generating new businessopportunities through development of new products, supporting field issues, anddriving resolutions, as well as coordinating engineering resources to supporton-going activities.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external customers,with the goal of providing technical and business solutions for allstakeholders, while ensuring satisfaction through all stages of the process
• Act as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the business unit
• Evaluate and translate customer requirements into functional and technicalelements that can be used to drive technical specifications for new productdevelopment or product optimization
• Act as technical advisor and product advocate for business unit
• Support competitive benchmarking activities (product and manufacturers), inorder to provide guidance/insight to business units for strategic planning
• Prepare and deliver formal technical presentations to the sales department,external customers (new and existing), or other stakeholders, as appropriate
• Resolve customer issues in a timely manner that is consistent with the companymission, values, and strategic objectives
• Support sales and marketing activities through attendance of industry tradeshows, conferences, and internal sales and training events
• Maintain existing customers, while working to establish new customers throughpartnerships with sales and a focus on conquest opportunities
• Assist in the design and development process to ensure customer requirementsand business unit objectives are captured, with a goal to meet or exceedexpectations
• Travel regularly to key end-user customers and OEMs to ensure successfulproduct launches, support integration opportunities, and provide training whenappropriate
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for key customers, quotes, projectrequests, contacts, and correspondence
• Ensure application of design practices and procedures supportive of INCOSE(International Council on Systems Engineering) guidelines
• Support Systems Engineering team with the development and implementation ofappropriate group tools and processes
• Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
• Other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an engineering ortechnical field
• Experience related to the design and development ofon-highway, heavy truck, specialty, or automotive vehicles preferred
• Possess a Class B CDL, or be willing to obtain
• Self-motivated, with ability to work independently, withminimal direct supervision
• Comfortable with both analytical and "hands-on"application of technical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3-D CAD with ability toreview and modify assemblies, models, and detail drawings
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, with the ability to pulldata as needed for analysis (e.g. costs, usage, supplier, volumes)
