Trane Technologies is currently seeking an Applications Engineer - Outreach, who will support the intersection of factory and field outreach activities to drive best practices, educate on new product features, consolidate product feedback, and build a strategy for technical documentation related to NextGen controls. Success in this role requires deep controls expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence best practices, support new product launches, and prepare the organization for the future of Trane Technologies controls.
What you will do:- Collaborate closely with the Training & Development team to build technical curriculum and learning materials that support successful adoption of current and next-generation Trane controls products.
- Drive improvements in product literature by influencing content, format, accuracy, and processes to support new product launches.
- Coordinate content strategy and commercialization of product specifications for Trane controls products and services.
- Lead field outreach initiatives, including:
- coordinating Field Advisory Council activities,
- delivering technical updates to office and field personnel,
- leading and coordinating activities to gather structured feedback from the field on prototypes, concepts, and early-stage designs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Trane equipment controls, and system applications-supporting internal teams, channel partners, and customer-facing functions.
- Develop, document, and communicate best practices for applying complex HVAC solutions in commercial buildings and mission-critical environments.
- Translate field insights into actionable recommendations for engineering, product management, service, and quality teams.
- Support the introduction, optimization, and lifecycle understanding of new products through technical presentations, application guidance, and solution-focused coaching.
What you will bring:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong understanding of HVAC system design, application, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated success driving efficiency and strategy for literature and other commercialization collateral.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, engaging training and technical materials.
- Experience interacting with field organizations, channel partners, or customer-facing teams is a plus.
- Proven ability to gather, synthesize, and articulate field insights to cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical thinking, and customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
