Applications Engineer

Department: Administrative

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: US - Texas - Abernathy

Reporting To: Chris Schantz

What you will be doing:
  • Reviews and interprets customer engineering bid specifications, RFQs, and application documents to identify technical, commercial, and compliance requirements for vertical pumping system (VPS) applications.
  • Develops complete technical quotations, including system configurations, options, and bills of material, with a focus on fast quote turnaround times to support sales responsiveness and bid competitiveness.
  • Collaborates with sales, product management, and engineering to align quoted solutions with product capabilities, lead times, strategic objectives, and margin targets.
  • Acts as a primary technical sales enablement resource by supporting pre-bid and post-bid technical clarifications, exceptions, and value-engineering opportunities.

What you need:
  • Interprets engineering bid specifications, standards, and customer requirements to identify technical scope, risks, exceptions, and opportunities that impact quoted solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills to evaluate multiple technical and commercial variables and select solutions that balance performance, compliance, lead time, and margin objectives
  • Manages multiple quotations and bid-support activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and timely turnaround in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Communicates technical and commercial information clearly and effectively to sales teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to support confident decision-making during the bid and quotation process.
