Full Job Description
Applications Engineer to join our team at the Pasadena Quick Response Center (QRC). This role acts as a critical technical and commercial bridge, reviewing client requirements and developing accurate, high-quality quotes for industrial equipment repairs and infrastructure projects.

Whether your strengths lean toward the commercial/sales side of engineering or you prefer diving deep into technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications, this role offers a wide-open spectrum for growth. We are highly focused on internal development and welcome candidates with a strong foundation in shop operations, technical planning, or heavy equipment repairs who are ready to transition into a strategic engineering environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Quotation Generation: Review customer service requests, analyze equipment conditions, and develop comprehensive, accurate commercial quotes for pump and flow-control components.
  • Technical Interpretation: Review customer documentation, mechanical specifications, and system layouts to ensure solutions align perfectly with operational demands.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal shop operations, QRC production planners, and field sales teams to ensure a seamless handoff from initial quote to final assembly.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, answering application questions and refining technical scopes as project dynamics change.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • The Right Experience: Practical experience in heavy industrial equipment scheduling, planning, or repairs is highly valued. Note: Production Planners with a strong background in pump/rotating equipment overhauls are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Educational Background: An engineering background is a plus, but a formal, technical Mechanical Engineering degree is not required for this position. Equivalent hands-on industry experience is fully accepted.
  • Technical/Commercial Balance: Ability to operate comfortably across a broad professional spectrum-from reviewing P&IDs and technical schematics to supporting client-facing commercial discussions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to clearly communicate technical details to both shop floor technicians and corporate clients.

What We Offer
  • Proven Career Pathing: This seat has a track record of success as a transition role for high-performing internal talent looking to build a long-term corporate engineering career.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the stability of a collaborative, local shop team paired with the modern flexibility of a hybrid work schedule (Fridays from home).
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive compensation package alongside day-one corporate health, retirement, and wellness benefits.
