What You Will Do: - Reviews all new jobs prior to being set up, including prints, programs, material, tooling, fixtures, collets and holders to ensure no interruptions at set up
- Studies parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequence of CNC machining operations
- Performs in-process inspections to assure products will meet requirements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gages
- Determines reference points, machine cutting paths, computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures
- Determines proper tooling and fixturing requirements of machining operations, including tooling speed and feed rates. Monitors and adjusts feeds and speeds as necessary
- Observes and simulates CNC trial runs to eliminate program errors and eliminate machine crashes
- Compares program code to original part specifications to verify accuracy
- Modifies existing programs to enhance production efficiency
- Verifies parts meet drawing specifications
- Inspects own work and machined parts to detect and correct errors
- Performs proper set up procedures as needed
- Submits status reports to management on progress of assigned projects
- Performs program troubleshooting, problem identification and resolution
- Monitors tool life and tool ware to detect potential problems; develops and implements solutions
- Develops, documents and delivers training to operators, Team Leaders, maintenance and others
- Maintains CNC back-up programs
- Provides support to maintenance, operators and quality in problem resolution; responds to on-call inquiries from off-shift team as scheduled
- Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing tools & techniques (workshops, Kanban, visual management,5S, total productive maintenance, set-up reduction, etc.)
- Use formal problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Initiate and manage productivity and cost savings projects.
- Implement and maintain process controls through advanced quality planning techniques (FMEA, key characteristics management, mistake proofing, etc.).
- Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations.
- Prepare capital expenditure requisitions and manage the implementation of capital equipment projects.
- Stay current with state-of-the art technologies and equipment.
- Participate in developing strategic manufacturing processes. Also assist in developing the short and long-range capital planning.
- Prepare and coordinate the implementation schedule for major projects and process changes.
- Develop and maintain all process documentation (ie. routings, standard work, work instructions, setup sheets, etc.) to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze proposed engineering changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
- Participate in developing and maintaining ISO 9001 procedures and documents for the Process engineering department as required.
- Assist Purchasing and Quality Assurance in qualifying suppliers for new product or product changes
- Attend training opportunities deemed necessary by management.
- Perform other duties as required
What You Need to Succeed: - 4 Year Degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Industrial, Process is preferred)
- 5+ years' experience in setting up, programming and operating Fanuc controlled CNC machining centers in a precision manufacturing environment
- Experience with Fanuc Controls, G and M code to develop programs for Mori-Seiki, Haas, OKK, DN Solutions, and Takamaz equipment or similar equipment
- Experience with operating all forms of inspection equipment
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and it's application
- Ability to read, interpret and utilize blue prints
- Basic math skills to include four functions, fractions and decimals, as well as ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to work both independently and with teams

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
- The expected Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
