Overview

Top candidates will have:

-Knowledge of PACS, voice dictation, and EHR software's.

-Experience configuring and integrating radiology imaging modalities.

The Application Systems Analyst II is responsible for formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop and modify moderately complex information systems. The individual supports a variety of departmental clinical applications as well as interfacing between a broad spectrum of hospital systems. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  • Participates in meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • Performs system builds and testing for software lifecycle activities. Ensures quality outcomes and assesses integrated impact.
  • Resolves incidents and work orders work according to agreed upon SLA's and assigned timelines. Completes project tasks on time with quality outcomes.
  • Maintains and creates documentation as needed.
  • Acts as a resource to end users and team members with regard to application utilization in context with workflow.
  • Performs the execution and update of test scripts, including unit, application and integrated test scripts.
  • Works with training staff and the instructional designer to guide the build and implementation of training tips and lesson plans to support features and optimization of the system.
  • Researches and analyzes new feature requests. Completes system build and testing as defined. Participates in stakeholder review, implementation documentation and communication planning.

An Application Systems Analyst for Enterprise Imaging in an AMC balances high-reliability technical infrastructure with a service-focused acumen and clinical enablement mentality.

  • Service Delivery Excellence: Commitment to exceeding expectations, meeting and exceeding SLAs, responsive escalation, and high customer satisfaction for clinical faculty and clinicians.
  • Experience Level: Direct support of enterprise PACS (Philips, Sectra, Visage, other), RIS (Epic experience or certification), VNA (Vendor Neutral Archive), and voice recognition platforms like Microsoft (Nuance) PowerScribe One.
  • Core Standards: Proficiency in DICOM syntax, HL7 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU), Modality Worklist (MWL) management, and DICOM router configuration (Dicom Systems Unifier, other).
  • Technical & Database: Database and application troubleshooting, interface error log analysis, data mapping, and SQL scripting.
  • AI Workflow Orchestration: Experience implementing and monitoring FDA-cleared AI diagnostic tools (e.g., Aidoc, Viz.ai, Lunit) and integrating AI results/overlays into PACS reader interfaces.
  • DICOMweb & FHIR Protocols: Knowledge of modern RESTful web standards (WADO-RS, STOW-RS, QIDO-RS) and HL7 FHIR for lightweight image viewing across mobile devices and EHR patient portals.
  • Cloud Architecture & VNA Tiering: Practical experience with hybrid or cloud-native Enterprise Imaging architectures hosted on AWS or Azure, including cloud VNA storage tiering.
  • Advanced Scripting: Python, PowerShell, or Bash capabilities for automating DICOM tag morphing, data cleansing for research environments, or synthetic load testing.
  • IoMT & Medical Device Cybersecurity: Familiarity with DICOM TLS encryption, medical device network segmentation, etc.
  • Project & Clinical Leadership: Track record of leading projects, PACS upgrades, multi-site hospital rollouts and support, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Non-Radiology EI Expansion: Specialized background expanding Enterprise Imaging systems into non-radiology domains, examples, Digital Pathology (whole-slide imaging), Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), other ...ologies.
  • Certifications: CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional), ARRT (Radiologic Technologist), Epic Radiant or Cupid certifications, and vendor-specific PACS credentials (e.g., Sectra, Visage, GE, Philips).
