OverviewElement is seeking anApplication Sales Engineerto serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them navigate complex testing requirements while delivering exceptional commercial support. In this highly visible role, you'll collaborate with engineers, project teams, purchasing professionals, and industry leaders to develop testing solutions that support critical products across medical devices, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, and more.
This is an on-site role at our Lab in Glendale Heights, IL.
Compensation: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 base salary range + bonus plan
Responsibilities- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements to develop accurate testing quotations.
- Act as the technical liaison between customers and laboratory operations.
- Guide customers through complex testing needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Build relationships with procurement teams, engineers, and technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while driving responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory engineers and subject matter experts to deliver technically sound proposals.
- Support larger commercial opportunities and strategic customer initiatives.
- Contribute to business growth by helping customers understand the value of Element's testing capabilities.
Skills / Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of technical, engineering, laboratory, quoting, or commercial experience.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, ASTM, ISO, or similar industry standards.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Preferred:- Experience in materials testing, laboratory services, quality, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
- Prior experience preparing quotations, technical proposals, estimates, or customer solutions.
- Familiarity with testing laboratories, certification services, or technical consulting organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial objectives.
