Application Engineer (Linux Server) to work in
Linthicum Heights, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Description:Perform Linux server system administration functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Stand up, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
- Monitoring and patching/upgrades to Linux servers and AWS instances.
- Assist and incorporate security compliance controls as applicable.
- Support documentation of non-applicable controls.
- Assist with installation of new or replacement hardware or software.
- Configure and integrate hardware or software with existing networked infrastructure.
- Assist with decommission and/or removal of obsolete, excess, or replaced hardware.
- Document inventory changes.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:- All experience and education will be in a technical field directly related to the labor category being proposed and all diplomas, GED certificates, and degrees will be from accredited institutions. Ten (10) years minimum experience and a High School Diploma/GED. Eight (8) years minimum experience and an Associate's Degree. Six (6) years minimum experience and a Bachelor's Degree. Four (4) years minimum experience and a Master's Degree. Two (2) years minimum experience and a Doctorate's Degree.
- Proficient with Linux. Minimum of 3 years Linux server administration experience (within the last 3 years).
- Proficient with AWS. Minimum of 1 year of AWS experience (within the last year).
- Proficient with Ansible. Minimum of 1 year of Ansible experience (within the last year).
- Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and AWS instances.
- Security + cert
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:Should have working knowledge, able to use and or support, with some (preferably most) of the following resources and tools:
- Linux servers
- AWS
- Ansible, Salt
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Elasticsearch, Splunk
- Scripting (bash, Python
