Job Summary
The Application Engineer II will be responsible to coordinate the planning and design of control systems to include programming and system configuration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Identify MEP systems on drawings.
• Understand the intent of individual mechanical equipment such as: Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, AHU's, FCU's, VAV's, EF's.
• Design complex electrical circuits such as: VFD's, Motor Starters, Transducers, Actuators, Sensors, and Relay Logic.
• Visio and AutoCAD knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of controls hardware.
• Select control hardware based on equipment requirements.
• Discover new control technologies to enhance our existing product offering.
• Create P&ID's based on mechanical equipment only.
• Develop controls submittals with little to no assistance from senior level engineers.
• Identify potential scopes of work for controls implementation.
• Interact with field electricians and specify methods of installation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in applications engineering.
• EIT or PE license desired.
• Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Working knowledge of at least two HVAC controls systems (preferably Distech, Delta, Schneider or JCI)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programing, or maintenance desired.
