The Opportunity

The Generator Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the technical authority for all generator systems integrated into Integra's modular power and infrastructure platforms. This role is responsible for defining generator selection standards, system integration requirements, performance criteria, controls interface strategies, and lifecycle considerations across all product lines. The SME supports product development, manufacturing, commissioning, and field operations to ensure generator systems are reliable, compliant, scalable, and optimized for mission-critical environments.

What you will do?

Technical Authority & Standards
  • Serve as the enterprise-level technical expert for diesel, natural gas, and alternative-fuel generator systems.
  • Develop and maintain generator design standards, specifications, and integration guidelines.
  • Establish performance criteria including load acceptance, transient response, redundancy strategy, and paralleling architecture.
  • Define standard configurations for modular and packaged generator solutions.

System Integration
  • Lead integration of generators with:
    • Switchgear and paralleling gear
    • UPS systems
    • EPMS platforms
    • Fuel systems
    • Automatic transfer switches (ATS)
    • Load banks and testing infrastructure
  • Define control interface requirements between generator controllers and site-level systems (BMS, EPMS, PLCs).
  • Ensure proper coordination of protection, sequencing, and load-sharing strategies.
  • Support microgrid and distributed energy integration strategies where applicable.

Product Development Support
  • Partner with Product Engineering to ensure generator systems are designed for manufacturability and modular deployment.
  • Support new product development efforts involving integrated generator modules or power blocks.
  • Review factory testing procedures and site commissioning protocols.
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in generator system design, integration, or commissioning within mission-critical or industrial environments.
  • Deep understanding of medium- and low-voltage generator systems, paralleling gear, and emergency power systems.
  • Hands-on experience supporting startup, load bank testing, and synchronization.
  • Strong knowledge of generator control systems and protection schemes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with large-scale data center, healthcare, utility, or industrial backup power systems.
  • Familiarity with microgrid applications and hybrid generation systems.
  • Experience working in modular or prefabricated infrastructure environments.
