Family Health West is a well-established multi-specialty practice. The candidate should be a
team player, willing to develop and grow an orthopedic program, who enjoys working closely with a
multi-specialty group and communicates well with patients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with hip, knee, and shoulder related injuries and
conditions.
• Assist in the operating room, including preoperative planning, surgical assistance, and
postoperative management.
• Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and develop treatment plans in
collaboration with physicians.
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic studies.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, surgeries, post-operative care, and
rehabilitation options.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
• Participate in the development of patient care protocols and treatment strategies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists,
to optimize patient care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Practice Details:
• Full spectrum of orthopedic care
• Clinic location in Fruita, Colorado
• Elective cases performed Monday-Friday until 5:00pm
• Surgical cases for orthopedics range from small soft tissue repairs to large bone fractures and
total joint replacements (knees, hips and shoulders)
• Practice includes rehabilitation services on-site and in surrounding clinics
• Strong Emergency Department capable of fracture and dislocation reductions, stabilization, and
splinting of most presenting injuries
Job Description Essential Functions
• Full Time, 80 hours per pay period
• Monday - Friday
• No Weekends
• Supporting physician with a combination of clinic days, inpatient rounding, and support in the
OR
• Surgical first-assist experience is preferred
Qualification Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
Unrestricted license to practice in the state of Colorado
Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe medications
Prior experience in orthopedics is preferred, but not required
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Qualified applicants must be Immunizations required for employment
Salary starts at $136,240 annually
