JOB SUMMARY:This position includes management of APPs (PA & NP) in multiple department sub-specialties that provides at multiple locations.The position will advocate for optimal APP practice while balancing department, market, and enterprise strategy. In addition to management duties, this position includes clinical duties up to 70% of the FTE at the Kernersville location. The leader will also balance clinical goals with academic learning health system goals to promote education of learners, professional advancement of APPs and growth.Given the leadership responsibilities, individual may need to be available for meetings or calls outside of traditional work hours. Attendance at Faculty Meetings.

REPORTS TO: Department leadership team of Vice Chair Operations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's degree required.Doctoral degree may enhance systems based operations and quality improvement initiatives.

Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License

Certified by NCCPA

Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered NurseandNurse Practitioner license.

Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. APP Liaison to key department stakeholders advocating for APPs and ensuring bi-directional communication
  2. Strategic partner in any growth initiatives where APP work force may expand
  3. Team retention through engagement and recognition
  4. HR Core Connect Functions include recruiting & hiring, onboarding, performance management, terminations, year-end check in & goal setting for direct reports
  5. Coordination of APP Schedules and Templates in alignment with UGP
  6. Regulatory/Compliance/Competency Tracking for APPs
  7. Quality Improvement
  8. Accountability of key productivity, system goals and patient access metrics to ensure APP optimization of practice
  9. Student Placement Coordinator or Delegate Responsibility
  10. Participates in Department Meetings, Committees/Task Force in Section and Department
  11. APP Council Representative
  12. Clinical practice will be maintained as a core component of role
