Physician Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Pinehurst, NC

FirstHealth of the Carolinas-a thriving, community-based health network serving the mid-Carolinas and a three-time Becker's Healthcare Top 150 Place to Work-invites an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery PA to join our dynamic, well-established cardiothoracic team and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care.

Position Highlights

  • Advanced cardiac program offers minimally invasive procedures, TAVR, CABG, robotic surgery, lung procedures and more.
  • Four PA team supports three talented surgeons.
  • Responsibilities include first assist, post-op care with ICU management, and clinic.
  • Monday - Friday schedule with 1:4 call.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and have NCCPA certification.
  • Two years of CT surgery PA experience preferred.
  • Position-specific knowledge and skills required:
  • Proficient with saphenous vein harvest (open and endoscopic) and tube thoracostomy
  • Management of ventilators and critically ill patients
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in titrating inotropic and pressor medications
  • Efficient with placement of central lines, arterial lines (femoral, radial), Swan-Ganz catheters, and chest tubes
  • Unrestricted NC Physician Assistant license, NC DEA, and ACLS certification through AHA required.
