Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification.
• Two years of experience in cardiothoracic (CT) surgery preferred.
• Proficient in saphenous vein harvest and tube thoracostomy.
• Skilled in managing ventilators and critically ill patients.
• Knowledgeable in titrating inotropic and pressor medications.
• Experienced in placement of central and arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and chest tubes.
• Unrestricted NC Physician Assistant license, NC DEA, and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in cardiothoracic procedures as first assist.
• Manage post-operative care and ICU patients.
• Conduct clinic visits for patient follow-ups.
• Collaborate closely with a team of three surgeons.
• Participate in a call rotation of 1:4 for after-hours patient care.
