Job Purpose

ICE Mortgage Technology (IMT) is seeking a visionary and hands-onDevelopment Directorto lead the strategic direction and execution of ourAPI and Data product setswithin theServicing segment. This high-impact role requires a unique blend oftechnical acumen, product strategy, domain expertise, and leadershipto drive digital and AI transformation and accelerate value delivery through an API-first approach.

You will be responsible for defining and executing the roadmap for scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs and data services that power the future of mortgage servicing. This role demands a dynamic leader who can wear multiple hatsstrategist, technologist, evangelist, and execution driver.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead theAPI and Data strategyfor IMTs Servicing segment, aligning with business goals and industry trends.
  • Drivemodernization of legacy systems, enabling scalable and cloud-native solutions.
  • Establish and enforceAPI design guidelines, domain and data modeling standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain asustainable API framework, integrating legacy services and introducing new APIs.
  • Lead and mentorcross-functional teamsincluding architects, product managers, and agile delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, and client-facing teams to deliver high-quality API and data products and solutions
  • Drive developer experience with Developer Portal
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies (e.g., Agentic AI, microservices, service mesh, cloud-native, and event-driven architectures) and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Partner with enterprise platform teams to ensure seamless integration and DevOps enablement.
  • Influence architectural decisions and participate in enterprise-wide technical committees.
  • PromoteAPI and data productization and monetizationstrategies across channels.
  • Drive innovation throughrapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on API and data technologies.
  • Travel up to 15% as needed.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in IT, with a strong background in software development and architecture.
  • 3+ years in leadership roles such as Software Architect, Product Manager, or Development Manager focused on API and data platforms.
  • Proven experience inFinancial Services, Mortgage Servicing, or FinTechis highly desirable.
  • Deep expertise inAPI Management platforms(e.g., Apigee), RESTful API design, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding ofAPI security standards(OAuth, OpenID Connect), asynchronous messaging, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Deep experience withJava/SpringBoot, .NET, AWS services, and integration technologies.
  • High level understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Large Language Models, and Agentic AI frameworks
  • Familiarity withAPI and data governance tools
  • Knowledge ofDevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and service mesh architectures.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across matrixed organizations and lead cross-functional teams.
