JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate is a compassionate care giver who is interested in the long-term management of patients with chronic rheumatic diseases.

Able to obtain a medical and surgical history and perform a thorough physical exam, with emphasis on the Musculo-skeletal system

Capable of diagnosing common rheumatological problems and of using laboratory and radiological diagnostic tools

Able to be a team member and work under the supervision of staff rheumatologists but also individually.

Up to date on the use of NSAIDs, corticosteroids and basic knowledge of disease-modifying drugs, including biologics and the way of monitoring efficacy and side-effects.

Capable or willing to acquire the skill of joint injections.

The candidate will be an active member of the Department of Rheumatology and will be expected to provide routine rheumatological care and to enhance communication and education to rheumatic disease patients and, therefore, improve adherence, compliance, and treatment outcomes.

In the same manner that staff Rheumatologists provide care in at least 3 different but adjacent geographical locations, the candidate will be expected to do the same.

Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases will be a plus, but it's not essential. Coaching and hands-on training by the staff rheumatologists will be provided as necessary to the right candidate who wants to be a part of the growing Department of Rheumatology and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

EDUCATION:
  • Graduate from an Accredited School of Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner studies.
  • Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas.

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic accepts H-1B Visas.
