Department:Job Description Summary:AnesthesiologistMount Sinai Medical CenterMiami Beach, FLPosition SummaryMount Sinai Medical Center, a leading tertiary care academic medical center, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical and procedural specialties, with opportunities for involvement in teaching, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary care initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide anesthesia services for general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) in operating rooms and procedural areas (e.g., GI, cath lab, OB).
- Perform preoperative evaluations and formulate individualized anesthetic plans in coordination with surgical teams.
- Monitor and manage intraoperative physiology, ensuring safety and stability through all phases of anesthesia.
- Manage postoperative recovery and acute pain, including regional anesthesia techniques where appropriate.
- Participate in emergency airway and resuscitation services (Code Blue, Rapid Response).
- Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and CRNAs in a teaching hospital environment.
- Engage in departmental quality assurance, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other specialties to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications - M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology
- Fellowship trained in Cardiac Anesthesiology
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Medical License Eligibility in Florida
- DEA registration and current ACLS/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning
- Fellowship training in Cardiac, Pediatric, Obstetric, Critical Care, or Regional Anesthesia preferred
- Experience in academic medical centers or high-acuity hospitals preferred
- Interest in quality improvement, research, or medical education preferred
