We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 and are building an in-house world-class ad tech ecosystem to offer our members more choices in consuming their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply engaged audiences.

The Ads Ranking team is the engine behind the intelligence that powers ad personalization at Netflix. Our mission is to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that deliver highly relevant ad experiences to our members and drive impactful results for advertisers-all while maintaining the exceptional quality and personalization that define the Netflix experience.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll design metrics, generate insights by scoping and executing deep dive analysis, and provide recommendations from a rigorous evaluation of product experiments. You'll work closely with partner teams to build workflows, provide recommendations and drive success on end-to-end analytics initiatives in this 0 -1 space. This is an exciting opportunity to be an early member of this new business area for Netflix!

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Data Engineers to design and implement robust data models and pipelines that enable richer, faster, and more accurate analysis.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, self-service analytics tools and data products to drive adoption across the business.
  • Develop, define, and maintain key metrics and dashboards for executive and business-critical reporting.
  • Analyze and interpret data to understand and improve the efficiency of the ads marketplace, providing recommendations to optimize ad delivery, performance, and revenue.
  • Develop and maintain observability and monitoring solutions for machine learning models, ensuring model performance, reliability, and early detection of anomalies or drift.
  • Enable A/B testing and experimentation by building robust data pipelines and providing accurate experiment tracking.
  • Proactively identify gaps and opportunities for innovation in analytics engineering, and drive initiatives to address them.
  • Experiment with and evaluate new technologies, including Generative AI solutions, to improve analytics, reporting, and data accessibility.
  • Translate complex data insights and technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • A degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar), and 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, analytics engineering, or a similar data field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
  • Experience with modern data warehousing (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL frameworks, and analytics tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive with minimal oversight and process
  • Prior experience in ad tech, streaming, technology, or consumer-facing products is a plus.


Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $330,000.00 - $566,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.
