Position Summary:The Analytics Associate supports the Business Operations team by delivering accurate data, insights, and reporting for the Customer Success organization. This role helps maintain the data infrastructure, define and measure key performance indicators, and create clear visualizations that support decision-making across the customer lifecycle. The position requires working with complex datasets to identify trends, surface business insights, and improve operational performance. This role is based in a hybrid work model and reports to the Analytics Senior Manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities:- Design and maintain data queries, datasets, and visualizations to support reporting and analysis.
- Define, calculate, and validate core metrics to support consistent interpretation of business performance.
- Partner with upstream system owners to understand data sources and improve data accuracy and usability.
- Support projects and process improvements that strengthen data integrity and reporting reliability.
- Create clear dashboards and visualizations that help stakeholders understand trends and identify opportunities.
- Use reporting and analytics tools such as Salesforce Analytics Studio, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, R, SAS, JMP, Python, or Spark to build analysis and reporting outputs.
- Develop understanding of the reporting architecture to support metric design and reporting standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and structure analyses that address key business questions.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify drivers, summarize findings, and deliver ad hoc analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Use AI-enabled tools to speed up routine data preparation, summarize findings, and explore analysis ideas, while validating outputs against source data and business context.
Additional Job Responsibilities:- Prepare reports and presentations for recurring business reviews and leadership updates.
- Support communication of analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to documentation of metric definitions, reporting logic, and data processes.
- Assist with special projects related to business performance or operational improvement.
- Share insights and recommendations with team members to support broader business planning
Expected Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of related professional experience in analytics, financial services, management consulting, corporate finance/strategy, business process improvement, or operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex or unstructured data.
- Experience with SQL or similar query tools; experience with Snowflake or Oracle SQL is preferred.
- Experience with a CRM platform such as Salesforce is preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Salesforce Analytics Studio is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to ambiguity, and make progress with limited direction.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new tools, methods, and technical skills as needed.
- Exposure to or experience with AI preferred.
Expected Compensation$65,000 - $111,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.
