What The Role IsReporting to the Senior Manager, Energy Management, the Analyst, Market Optimization & Trading, will support the development and execution of trading, hedging, and optimization strategies for Clearway's ERCOT and PJM assets. The Analyst will work in close coordination with the Market Optimization & Trading, Market Fundamentals, Business Development, Origination, Asset Management, Credit and Energy Risk, and Operations groups to help manage Clearway's market exposure while building deep expertise in nodal power market analytics within a rapidly growing organization.

What You'll Be Doing- Support the development and execution of day-ahead, real-time, and term trading and hedging strategies for Clearway's ERCOT and PJM assets, including energy, ancillary services, and basis positions.
- Assist in identifying and analyzing congestion market risk, including congestion.
- Support participation in CRR/FTR auctions and virtual bidding strategies.
- Work with Credit and Energy Risk to support the internal approval process for trading counterparties and transactions.
- Communicate with project stakeholders on market conditions, trading risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Work with the Market Analytics and Credit and Energy Risk teams to develop and enhance tools for position management, reporting, trade capture, and the eventual implementation of an enterprise risk management system.
- Develop, operate, and maintain production cost and price forecasting models (e.g., using tools such as UPLAN, PROMOD, or Dayzer) to support nodal price and congestion forecasting for ERCOT and PJM.
- Leverage data to create tools and automate workflows.
- Mark and maintain forward price curves for ERCOT and PJM power products, and support stochastic risk modeling and correlation assumptions.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc market recaps, outlooks, and presentation materials summarizing ERCOT and PJM fundamentals, price drivers, and trading performance for internal stakeholders.
- Support day-to-day position management and P&L reporting for ERCOT and PJM trading portfolios.
- Oversee the Energy Management documentation process, leveraging Clearway's internal and external subject matter experts to bring trading, ISO, QSE, and enabling agreements to execution.
- Participate in energy working groups, professional organizations, trade shows & conferences.
- Track and report on ERCOT and PJM policy and regulatory developments, including ISO market rule changes, that may impact trading strategy, leveraging Clearway's internal and external subject matter experts.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with respect to all functions of CEG.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, engineering, economics, mathematics, meteorology, or a related quantitative field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a curious, inquisitive mindset and a genuine drive to understand how power markets work. Prior trading experience is not required - relevant coursework, internship, or academic research in a quantitative field will also be considered.
- Interest in or exposure to ERCOT and/or PJM market structure, including day-ahead and real-time markets, CRR/FTRs, and ancillary services, is a plus but not required.
- Solid understanding of power markets, including forwards, futures, swaps, and options.
- Ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets relevant to energy markets to support trading and risk decisions.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, or other coding/statistical tools is a plus.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
- Attention to detail and inclination towards structure, organization, and process - as well as the ability to examine, question, and improve on the inputs and recommendations of others.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, track progress and needs of each, and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Able to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; proficient in Word and PowerPoint.

This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
