Seated within our Quantitative Investment Science group, the Analyst, Junior Quantitative Developer builds the core services, APIs, and shared foundations that the rest of our product is built on. This engineer works at the intersection of engineering and product - turning product requirements into reliable, well-designed platform capabilities that other engineers and features depend on. While the focus is on backend services and APIs, our team realistically has its hands in any part of the stack, from data pipelines to the frontend application shell. This role is ideal for analytically-minded engineers who care about how systems fit together and want to help shape product through the foundations they build.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:
  • Strong analytical skills and natural curiosity about how systems work end to end
  • Excellent collaboration skills - you'll work closely with product and development
  • Attention to detail and systematic thinking
  • A love for turning requirements into well-defined, durable systems
  • Interest in finance and building efficient products that users love

What you will do:
  • Design, build, and maintain core backend services and APIs that power product features
  • Develop shared platform components used across frontend and backend applications
  • Build and improve data pipelines and integrations across the platform
  • Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD, and automated testing that keeps services reliable
  • Partner with product and design to turn requirements into clear technical designs
  • Support gradual rollouts and feature flags to ship changes safely
  • Instrument services with logging, metrics, and telemetry for reliability
  • Document platform capabilities and APIs so teams can build with confidence

What you bring:
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for building services and working with data
  • Understanding of web application architecture (frontend/backend request flow)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred), including containers and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with API design and building clear, well-structured endpoints
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and telemetry patterns
  • Experience with collaborative git workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to product and non-technical collaborators
  • Interest in system design and writing clean, well-typed, tested, maintainable code
  • Preferred: Familiarity with React/TypeScript for frontend work, familiarity with feature flags for controlled rollouts, exposure to financial products

Education Preferred

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience

Experience

2-4 years development experience with exposure to backend services, platform engineering, or data pipelines
