Position Summary

The Analyst, Vendor Management Office (VMO) is an entry-level opportunity within McKesson Technology's Vendor Management Office, Operational Excellence & Governance division. The role is designed for recent graduates who are analytically strong, detail-oriented and eager to build a career at the intersection of technology, vendor governance and commercial operations. This role provides structured exposure to the full VMO operating model, from invoice and financial management to vendor performance reporting and contract management with hands-on mentorship from experienced vendor management colleagues. Working closely with Service Area (technology) stakeholders, Sr. Vendor Managers, Finance, legal and procurement teams, this role offers a rare foundation for building deep expertise and business acumen in enterprise IT contracts, vendor management, procurement and commercial governance from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Data Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor data across VMO systems of record (Fieldglass, Ariba, Workday), ensuring data integrity for operational and financial reporting.
  • Support production of weekly and monthly VMO reports, including KPI dashboards, invoice summaries, and resource demand inputs with guidance from senior analysts.
  • Gather and organize vendor and financial data to support reporting, governance reviews and executive presentations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining tracking tools, templates, and reporting frameworks used across VMO workstreams.


Invoice & Financial Management Support

  • Assist with end-to-end invoice processing - validation, reconciliation, routing, and exception tracking - to support timely and accurate vendor payments.
  • Support purchase order creation and vendor agreement administration within VMO procurement systems.
  • Flag billing discrepancies and work with senior analysts, Finance, internal stakeholders, and vendors to resolve exceptions.
  • Learn and apply McKesson's invoice governance standards and purchasing processes across assigned portfolios.


Vendor Governance Support

  • Support vendor performance monitoring activities, including data gathering, KPI tracking, and preparation of performance review materials.
  • Assist with coordination of vendor assessments, governance meetings, and corrective action tracking.
  • Help prepare materials for vendor governance reviews and leadership briefings under the direction of senior VMO team members.
  • Develop familiarity with McKesson's vendor portfolio, contract structures, and governance standards across assigned service areas.


Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Support Service Area stakeholders, VMO Sr. Managers, and senior analysts with data requests, reporting, and administrative coordination.
  • Participate in VMO operational planning cycles, contributing data inputs and logistical support.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal teams.
  • Assist with enterprise-related projects and VMO initiatives as directed.


Required Qualifications

  • Recently completed or completing a 4-year degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field ([redacted] graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and structured reporting.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical, thoughtful, organized approach to work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a willingness to engage across levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a structured environment.
  • Genuine curiosity about technology, vendor ecosystems, commercial/business strategies and how large enterprise organizations manage third-party relationships.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Co-op, internship, or part-time experience in business operations or finance department, operations, technology environment or a large corporate environment.
  • Exposure to procurement or VMS platforms (Fieldglass, Beeline, Ariba, Workday, or similar) through coursework or work experience.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, supply chain, or commercial contracting concepts through academic or practical exposure.
  • Experience producing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations in Excel or comparable tools.
  • Demonstrated initiative - someone who sees what needs to be done and does it without waiting to be asked.
  • Familiarity with enterprise application portfolios (e.g., SAP, Workday) and the vendor ecosystems that support them.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
