Job DescriptionLazard Geopolitical Advisory (LGA), based in the Austin, Texas office, delivers sector specific, market-relevant geopolitical insights to help Lazard's corporate clients identify opportunities and risks in a rapidly changing global environment. It provides bespoke advice on how geopolitical trends and developments translate into impact on a client's business, and how they may affect its operations, earnings, and strategy. LGA represents a unique fusion of world-class geopolitical knowledge and expertise with business and financial intelligence. The group leads coverage for clients across the U.S. and globally. The Geopolitical Advisory Analyst position offers an unparalleled opportunity to work as part of small team on developing geopolitical insights and conducting analysis for Lazard and its clients. Analysts work hand-in-hand with senior clients, investment banking coverage teams, and firm executives. It will provide exposure to the breadth of the Lazard organization, platform, and clients. It will also provide access to and mentorship from leading geopolitical experts, including Admiral William McRaven, General Michael "Erik" Kurilla, Jami Miscik, Chairman Patrick McHenry, Sir Stephen Lovegrove, and other senior leaders.
A Geopolitical Advisory Analyst works on a variety of client projects and across international economic and political issues. Deep geopolitical, policy, and macroeconomic expertise with a generalist orientation is a must, and specific areas of interest or expertise are a plus. The ability to autonomously put together differentiated research and presentations and integrate financial and economic insights into geopolitical analysis is critical. An inclination to engage in a wide range of topics within current affairs, finance, and economics, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues are key traits of a successful Geopolitical Advisory Analyst.
We'll trust you to:- Effectively analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information to be delivered verbally or in writing to senior external and internal audiences
- Engage and handle both qualitative and quantitative information across geopolitics and macroeconomics
- Conduct in-depth research across a wide range of companies, industries, geographies, and topics
- Assist in the preparation of client presentations and marketing materials
- Have a point of view and be willing to challenge the consensus
- Be a team player and contribute to our collegial culture
- Interact with senior bankers and clients
- Collaborate and coordinate across our small, hybrid team and global, cross-functional firm
You'll need to have:- 1-2 years of professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, macroeconomic investment, or geopolitics-focused corporate advisory
- Bachelor's degree required, postgraduate degrees (i.e., Master's) a plus; ideally related to the fields of business, economics, and international relations
- Quantitative analysis and data visualization skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to leverage other platforms (e.g., Bloomberg)
- Ability to communicate with senior decision makers
- Motivation, creativity, maturity, poise, and ability to work as a team player
- Comfort operating in an unstructured environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work across and manage multiple workstreams
- Foreign language capabilities and experiences across various geographies are a plus
- Sector-specific knowledge or interests (e.g., healthcare, energy, or technology) are a plus

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $120,000 - $125,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant's years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory's compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
