What You'll Do:You will become part of a dynamic Merchandising team and build relationships with external and internal partners as you learn about our business. As an Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting the Buyer's activities to drive our business, including developing unique product assortments for our omni-channel business through analysis, trend research and international sourcing.
Core Responsibilities:Enterprise Data and Reporting Support- Enterprise data support: Build working knowledge of key data sources, tables, definitions, and data flows to support accurate reporting and analysis.
- SQL analysis: Write and validate queries for recurring reports, ad-hoc analyses, customer personalization and segmentation, and business investigations.
- Data quality: Check reports and datasets for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, document findings, and escalate issues with clear evidence.
- Reporting assets: Create, update, and QA dashboards, recurring reports, and self-service assets for reliable performance visibility.
Enterprise Business Analysis and Measurement- Performance analysis: Analyze customer, digital, marketing, loyalty, ecommerce, supply chain, finance, and operational performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Business storytelling: Summarize findings in clear language, visuals, and supporting detail so partners understand what changed, why it matters, and what actions to consider. Explain technical results and data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Measurement support: Support KPI definition, campaign measurement, test readouts, audience analysis, and operational reporting.
Hands-on Technical Skills- Tools and platforms: Use SQL, spreadsheets, analytics platforms, and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI to extract data, update reports, validate outputs, and answer business questions. Experience in Python, Jupyter Notebook, Snowflake, Snowsight, or Snowpark is preferred but not required.
- Technical troubleshooting: Help investigate tracking, reporting, audience, and data issues by comparing sources, checking assumptions, and documenting findings.
Cross-Functional Partnership- Request intake: Clarify stakeholder questions, identify needed data, confirm success metrics, and organize details for accurate execution.
- Business partnership: Work with enterprise partners across Marketing, Ecommerce, Loyalty, Customer Insights, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Technology, and other teams to support reporting, analysis, and issue resolution.
Preferred Experience and Skills You'll Bring:- 2+ years of experience in analytics, data analysis, business intelligence, retail analytics, or a related field.
- Hands-on SQL experience with joins, aggregations, filters, validation checks, and relational data models.
- Experience using Excel for analysis, reporting, dashboard support, and data validation. Experience translating business questions into clear analysis steps, delivering concise findings, and making recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of campaign measurement and analysis, web analytics, experimentation, customer segmentation, or enterprise reporting preferred.
- Strong time and project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- This position is fully remote, requires strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a virtual environment; Bay Area, CA location preferred.
CA Pay Range is $100,000- $130,000 Annually
