What You'll Do:

We are seeking an Analyst that will play a key role in growing our direct-to-consumer business, with a focus on business performance tracking, initiative planning and ad-hoc model support. They will help identify some of the business' key issues and opportunities by providing subscriber transparency and help provide solutions by partnering with cross functional teams to evaluate strategic initiatives. This is inclusive of but not limited to: emerging trend analysis & quantification, modeling the impacts of various initiatives, tracking & communicating performance versus plan, scenario modeling, and cross-functional project management. They will also be responsible for collaborating closely with stakeholders from Revenue & Engagement Planning, Tactical Opportunities, Product & Technology, Pricing & Yield Management, DTC Strategy, leadership, etc.

The right person for this role has phenomenal analytical skills, experience in working with large data sets and building complex financial models, sets a high bar for themselves, and must display initiative in anticipating and exceeding the business demands of the key stakeholders. This role will be data-focused, responsible for sharing business insights, providing strategic recommendations, and influencing key operational decisions. Succeeding in this position will require extensive collaboration across multiple cross functional teams and effectively utilizing team resources to navigate an ever-changing streaming landscape.

The pace and cadence for change at Disney necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment of the Disney business.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and enhance the Disney+ Domestic Subscriber forecast process & key underlying assumptions
  • Collaborate with key operational support teams (Business Operations, Tac Opps, Pricing & Yield Management, DTC Strategy, Revenue & Engagement Planning, to name a few) and ensure alignment on key assumptions and understanding of KPIs
  • Support strategic ad hoc analysis to highlight KPI trends, opportunities / risks to plan, size new offerings, evaluate new strategic initiatives
  • Maintain a strong understanding of operating performance (e.g. KPIs, subscribers), major deals and transactions, issues and challenges facing the businesses, and relevant trends in the streaming business
  • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates subscriber projections, drivers, business performance, and risks & opportunities to leadership


Qualifications:
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant finance/strategy experience in media, direct-to-consumer subscription, management/strategy consulting, investment banking or similar fields
  • Excellent communication and PowerPoint skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
  • Expert Excel skills; extensive experience building operating models and analyzing large data sets
  • Knowledge and understanding of subscription / DTC KPIs a must
  • Media & Entertainment industry experience a plus


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $85,000.00 to $116,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
