Job Purpose

The Analyst, Control Center Operations provides analytical, technical, and operational support to help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the electric system. This role uses operational data, technology, and process improvement to monitor system performance, support compliance and event analysis, and advance Control Center and grid modernization initiatives.

Working across Control Center Operations and partner teams, the Analyst will help identify trends, improve operational readiness, and turn complex system data into actionable insights.

Key Accountabilities

Operational Analytics & Reliability
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance, reliability indicators, outage trends, system events, and equipment performance.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, scorecards, and presentations that support operational and leadership decision-making.
  • Use data from systems such as EMS, SCADA, OMS, ADMS, DERMS, and AMI to identify risks, trends, and opportunities to improve reliability and situational awareness.
  • Support operational reviews, regulatory requests, and other business or strategic initiatives.

Event Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Support reviews of operating events, switching errors, equipment failures, restoration challenges, and abnormal system conditions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and help identify and track corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Control Center processes, operational performance, and readiness.

Compliance & Operational Governance
  • Support compliance with applicable NERC, NPCC, NYSRC, NYISO, company, and other operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, emergency response documentation, reference materials, and job aids.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, self-assessments, corrective action programs, and required documentation.

Grid Modernization & Collaboration
  • Support Control Center modernization initiatives involving EMS, ADMS, DERMS, OMS, and other operational technologies.
  • Assist with business requirements, testing, system validation, user acceptance testing, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Customer, Regulatory, IT, and other teams to resolve operational issues and implement improvements.
  • Participate in projects focused on grid modernization, reliability, digital transformation, and operational excellence.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field required.
  • At least three years of experience in electric utility operations, engineering, system operations, reliability, compliance, analytics, operational technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate operational and technical issues required.
  • Experience developing reports, metrics, dashboards, and presentations using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
