En tant qu'ingénieur métallurgiste en analyse de défaillance, vous vous rapporterez au superviseur du département des Enquêtes, qualité et essais métallurgiques. Vous appliquerez les principes de la science des matériaux, aux fins d'investigation, d'analyse et de caractérisation de composantes endommagées de turboréacteurs.

À titre d'analyste en défaillance, vous devrez également décider et faire le suivi des évaluations requises à vos investigations tel que des essais non destructifs, des analyses chimiques ou autres.

Le poste s'effectue à notre établissement de Longueuildu lundi au vendredi, selon des horaires flexibles et exclusivement en présentiel.

À quoi ressemblera votre quotidien?
  • Effectuer des investigations métallurgiques sur des composantes de moteurs ayant subi une avarie, coordonner et réaliser des évaluations détaillées et des analyses laboratoires appropriées (essais non destructifs, examens visuels et microscopiques, évaluations métallurgiques, etc.) pour déterminer les mécanismes de défaillance et en déduire les causes physiques de détresse
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les clients internes afin de déterminer leurs besoins et s'assurer de compléter les investigations dans les délais convenus
  • Préparer des rapports détaillés basés sur les évidences recueillies
  • Gérer et revoir les investigations métallurgiques faites à l'externe
  • Revoir les rapports d'évaluation métallurgiques de pièces moteur
  • Participer et contribuer à la promotion des piliers de la compagnie (ESS, étique & qualité)


Qu'est-ce qu'il vous faut pour réussir?
  • Baccalauréat en génie des matériaux ou équivalent
  • Expérience pratique en analyse de défaillance
  • Expérience en microscopie optique et microscopie électronique à balayage
  • Connaissance des matériaux aéronautiques et leurs mécanismes d'endommagement
  • Connaissance des procédés de traitement thermiques, revêtements, fonderie, forgeage, usinage, soudage
  • Capacité de chercher et d'acquérir des nouvelles connaissances rapidement
  • Excellentes habiletés de communications et orienté résultats
  • Forte aptitude pour le travail en équipe multidisciplinaire
  • Bon leadership, motivé, autonome, fiable et axé sur les résultats


Ce poste s'inscrit dans un milieu de travail francophone, néanmoins il nécessite une très bonne connaissance de l'anglais pour lire et comprendre, sur une base quotidienne, de la documentation et des termes techniques qui peuvent émaner d'organisations internationales, ainsi que pour écrire et communiquer en anglais avec des clients, des fournisseurs ou des collègues internationaux.

Job title : Failure analysis - Metallurgical engineer

Why join our team?

As a metallurgical engineer in failure analysis, you will be reporting to the Metallurgical investigation, quality & testing manager. You will apply the principles of materials science to conduct investigations, analyze and characterize damaged jet engine components.

As a failure analyst, you will also oversee the related evaluations required in the course of your investigations such as non-destructive evaluations, chemical analyses or others.

The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?
  • Conduct metallurgical investigations of engine hardware, organize and perform detailed examinations and appropriate laboratory analyses (visual and microscopic examinations, metallurgical evaluation, etc.) to determine failure mechanisms and establish the physical causes of distress
  • Work closely with internal customers to determine their needs and ensure completion of the investigations within the agreed schedule
  • Prepare detailed reports with supporting evidence
  • Manage and review outsourced metallurgical investigations
  • Review metallurgical evaluations reports on engine hardware
  • Participate and contribute to the promotion of the company's pillars (EH&S, Ethics & Quality)


What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or equivalent
