Description

Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled AN/BYG-1 Systems Engineer to support an innovative program office. This role serves as the primary Technical Direction Authority (TDA) Systems Engineering Point of Contact responsible for leading requirements management, coordinating technical working groups, and ensuring successful development and delivery of combat system capabilities. You will work closely with senior government leadership, engineering teams, and system stakeholders to support one of the Navy's premier submarine combat systems. Work Location: Onsite: Newport, RI

Travel: Less than 10%, occasional travel may be available for SWFTS operational demonstrations and Program Office meetings.

Clearance: Secret Clearance required

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 7+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex Department of Defense acquisition or combat systems programs.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements development, requirements traceability, and verification processes.
  • Experience supporting the AN/BYG-1 Combat System or comparable Navy combat systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile and SecDevOps software development methodologies.
  • Experience using JIRA for requirements, feature, and issue management.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, specifications, engineering artifacts, and software baselines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief technical information to senior government leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines, contractors, and government stakeholders.


Desired Experience:

  • Experience supporting government programs or Navy submarine combat system programs.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead or working group chair.
  • Familiarity with Capability Development Documents (CDD), Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), Product Specifications (PSPEC), System/Subsystem Specifications (SSS), System Requirements Specifications (SRS), and Use Case development.
  • Experience supporting Technical Direction Authority (TDA) organizations.
  • Knowledge of AN/BYG-1 software components including TCS, PCS, Information Assurance (IA), CIS, CWL, MTWS, Applications, and Non-Developmental Items (NDIs).
  • Experience supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience supporting Integration, Verification, and Certification (IVC) activities.
  • Previous submarine combat systems, undersea warfare, or Navy operational experience.
