Americas Environmental Regulations and Standards Senior Principal Engineer

Our Regulatory Engineering team thrives on the challenge of operating in a complex global environment. We ensure product compliance to global regulatory, market and customer requirements in all our target regions. We work across segments and functions to integrate policy relating to emissions, safety and the environment into products and solutions. As we align regulatory standards with our strategic plans, we work closely with regulatory bodies, as well as with industry and customer groups.

Responsibilities

What you'll achieve

As an Americas Environmental Regulations and Standards Senior Principal Engineer, you will help shape the future of electronic materials/component chemistry and restricted materials regulations (RoHS, PFAS, etc.), extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations and electronic product reparability regulations ("right to repair"). across Dell Technologies' global product portfolio. In this highly visible role, you will monitor, interpret, and influence worldwide product energy regulations and standards, ensuring Dell's products remain compliant, competitive, and forward-looking.

You will act as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance for product teams and leadership. By engaging directly with regulatory agencies, standards bodies, and industry trade associations, you will ensure Dell's perspective is effectively represented throughout the regulatory development process. This role requires strong communication skills, technical credibility, and the ability to collaborate across a broad range of teams and stakeholders including engineers, product managers, executives, and external partners.

You will:
  • Drive Americas environmental regulatory strategy by defining and advocating Dell's positions across the product portfolio, influencing regulations and standards to align with business, technology, and market objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Global Operations, and other internal stakeholders to translate global regulatory and standards requirements into clear, actionable guidance and integrated execution plans.
  • Represent Dell Technologies externally with regulatory agencies, standards bodies, and industry trade associations, building credibility and influence while maintaining strong relationships with external partners.
  • Lead governance, execution, and communication of regulatory initiatives using project management tools and systems to track progress, manage documentation, and ensure timely, effective stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide strategic insight and leadership visibility by continuously assessing business and market factors related to energy programs-including competitive positioning, financial impact, portfolio considerations, risks, and timelines-and regularly reviewing strategy effectiveness with senior leadership.

Essential Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in engineering
  • Strong leadership skills, organizing, and planning skills and demonstrate attentiveness to quality and productivity
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical, problem solving, and priority setting skill; initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Facilitation skills to lead meetings and achieve consensus with multi-stakeholder groups inside and outside the company; Ability to build effective teams, lead extended teams, and meet deadlines


Desirable Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field
  • Experience in energy and standards regulations


Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $138,000 to $190,300.
