Help lead the daily operations of a busy, patient-centered ambulatory practice where exceptional service, teamwork, and operational excellence come together.

MedStar Ambulatory Services at Federal Hill is seeking an organized, resourceful, and service-driven Practice Supervisor to oversee administrative operations, support front-office staff, and help create a seamless experience for patients, providers, and associates. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional who enjoys developing teams, improving workflows, solving problems, and keeping a fast-paced medical practice running efficiently.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily front-office operations, including patient scheduling, registration, referrals, prior authorizations, appointment reminders, staffing coverage, and patient-flow coordination.
  • Train, coach, schedule, and support administrative staff while serving as the on-site leader when designated leadership is unavailable.
  • Oversee front-end billing activities, including encounter-form review, charge entry, coding follow-up, billing reports, user audits, cash reconciliation, deposits, and communication with billing departments.
  • Serve as a key resource for electronic medical record workflows, documentation management, system downtime procedures, and practice-management processes.
  • Coordinate office and clinical supplies, purchase orders, vouchers, financial documentation, personnel records, and other resources required for efficient site operations.
  • Partner with providers, clinical staff, information services, billing teams, and operational leaders to strengthen workflows, resolve concerns, improve performance, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Minimal Qualifications:
  • Three to four years of progressively responsible, job-related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant education and professional experience may be considered in combination
  • Healthcare practice, medical office, or ambulatory operations experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with patient scheduling, registration, referrals, prior authorizations, billing processes, and electronic medical records
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, coach, and coordinate staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple physicians and specialties while maintaining a pace appropriate to patient and operational needs
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire

USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,836.00 /Yr.
