AltaGas - Senior Analyst, Chief of Staff Office

The Chief of Staff Office is seeking a highly analytical, accountable, and business-minded professional to support executive decision-making, enterprise priorities, and cross-functional initiatives across AltaGas. As an extension of the Chief of Staff Office, this role will partner with executives and business leaders to solve complex business challenges, develop actionable insights, strengthen organizational alignment, and advance high-priority initiatives across the organization.The successful candidate will combine structured problem-solving, sound business judgment, and exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to independently drive high-quality outcomes in an unstructured environment.This is a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to executive leadership, enterprise performance, growth opportunities, and strategic priorities while contributing to some of the organization's most important work. What You'll Do

  • Analyze business performance, strategic opportunities, regulatory developments, and market trends to support executive decision-making
  • Develop financial models, business cases, scenario analyses, risk assessments, and investment evaluations
  • Support the evaluation of growth opportunities, strategic partnerships, corporate development initiatives, and emerging business models across regulated and non-regulated businesses
  • Conduct complex analyses, synthesize quantitative and qualitative information, and develop actionable recommendations for senior leadership
  • Support the translation of enterprise priorities into measurable initiatives, performance metrics, management routines, and reporting tools
  • Monitor progress against strategic priorities, identifying emerging risks, dependencies, decision points, and opportunities for intervention
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff Office and business leaders to advance high-priority initiatives, growth projects, transformation efforts, and enterprise priorities
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, support milestone execution, and help remove barriers to progress
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations, briefing notes, decision memos, Board materials, and communication content
  • Conduct research and develop insights to support executive communications, leadership forums, town halls, strategic offsites, investor discussions, and stakeholder engagements
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Chief of Staff Office, helping surface risks, opportunities, and complex issues early
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to support alignment, decision-making, and execution

  • Sound business judgment and intellectual curiosity, with a desire to understand how organizations operate, make decisions, and drive results
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and tailor key messages for executive audiences
  • Strong financial and quantitative capabilities, including experience developing business cases, conducting analyses, and supporting decision-making
  • A proactive and accountable approach, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and sound judgment when working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience supporting senior leaders, strategic initiatives, Board materials, executive communications, corporate planning, or regulated and capital-intensive industries is considered an asset
  • An MBA, CFA, CPA, P.Eng., or other relevant professional designation is an asset
