Job DescriptionAltaGas - Representative, Asset ManagementThe Representative, Asset Management will serve as a key commercial contact for extraction facilities, LPG storage and loading assets, and operated and non-operated joint venture facilities. The role combines commercial relationship management, contract negotiation, asset optimization, project execution, and opportunities to build leadership capability while supporting interdisciplinary asset teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with producers, customers, joint venture partners, and internal stakeholders to maximize asset value, support commercial growth, and identify optimization opportunities across AltaGas' portfolio. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys solving complex problems, communicating insights, and managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
You Will- Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, customers, joint venture partners, and service providers.
- Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and customer or partner reviews related to existing agreements, contract amendments, operational matters, development plans, budgeting, and growth opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities to optimize asset utilization, profitability, and long-term strategic value.
- Analyze commercial, operational, and financial performance to develop business cases, presentations, and strategic recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Business Development, and Production Accounting teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and variance analysis activities.
- Monitor industry developments, market fundamentals, producer activity, and infrastructure trends affecting natural gas, NGL, and LPG markets.
- Coordinate timely responses to internal and external information requests, ensuring responses are accurate, complete, and aligned with commercial and operational priorities.
You Have- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in natural gas processing, gas production, extraction facilities, or related upstream oil and gas operations.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience in negotiating, administering, and optimizing commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage strong relationships with external stakeholders, customers, joint venture partners, and service providers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize operational, commercial, and financial information into actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with producer development planning, gas processing economics, NGL value chains, and Western Canadian natural gas and NGL markets.
- Experience with economic modeling, and strategic project evaluations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience engaging senior leaders and external counterparties.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
