OverviewWieland is hiring a Alloy Engineer. The Alloy Engineer will be responsible for all metallurgical aspects of our product with the aim of high quality and low cost routing logic. This role supports EA, WH, WY and RE. Works closely with Planning team to ensure routing is correct and all associated documentation is managed. Owner of all internal capabilities and metallurgical definitions to support flow of these processes. This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be fully on-site.
Base Salary Range: $104,900 - $113,800
May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities
Alloy Engineer Responsibilities:
- In-depth understanding of the metallurgical / manufacturing process and equipment capabilities to facilitate the highest quality process at the lowest cost. Abide by requirements of the ISO quality mgmt. systems.
- Development and maintenance of RollGuide and supporting documentation, Feasibility and Special Application systems and processes. Provide accurate process logic to the Planning team.
- Responsible for developing the metallurgical routing for East Alton material. Work closely with Planning and Technical Service to ensure all requirements are clearly defined prior to order entry to ensure process accuracy. For locations within RR not currently in APGen, support consistency in the metallurgical process.
- Knowledge of primary customer markets and the metallurgical requirements needed to meet the voice of the customer. Work closely with the Technical Service and Sales departments for all of RR.
- Lead project work on metallurgical routing improvements with a high emphasis on cost reduction and high yield while maintaining customer satisfaction supporting all of RR.
- Develop new Roll Guide IDs for all RR downstream locations as they roll into the feasibility project.
Alloy Engineer Qualifications:
- Metallurgical engineering degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
