Full Job Description
Business Analyst - Azure Integration Services
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support enterprise integration initiatives built on Microsoft Azure Integration Services. This role bridges business stakeholders and technical delivery teams - translating integration needs (system-to-system, B2B/EDI, API modernization) into clear, testable requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable working alongside architects and engineers on the Azure integration stack while keeping business outcomes and process impact front and center.

Responsibilities
  • Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements for integration initiatives involving Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and related components.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to map current-state processes and define future-state workflows enabled by new or modernized integrations.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and process/data flow diagrams for use by architects and developers.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, JAD sessions, and stakeholder interviews across business and technical teams.
  • Maintain the requirements traceability matrix (RTM) and ensure requirements are tracked from intake through UAT sign-off.
  • Support API and data mapping efforts - documenting source-to-target data flows, field-level mappings, and transformation logic in partnership with technical leads.
  • Assist in test planning and execution, including writing test cases, coordinating UAT, and validating that delivered integrations meet defined business rules.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies between business processes and technical integration design, escalating early to the project manager or architect.
  • Support change management activities, including documentation of new processes and end-user training materials tied to integration rollouts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews) as the voice of the business/product owner where applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on technology or systems integration projects.
  • Experience supporting projects involving Azure Integration Services components (Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Event Grid, or similar) or comparable middleware/iPaaS platforms.
  • Strong requirements-gathering and documentation skills, including user stories, process flows, and data mapping artifacts.
  • Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders, able to translate between the two audiences.
  • Familiarity with API concepts (REST/SOAP, request-response vs. event-driven patterns) sufficient to document integration requirements accurately.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, including backlog and story management in tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, insurance) where integration projects carry compliance/audit requirements.
  • Prior experience with EDI/B2B integration requirements or legacy-to-cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Basic SQL skills for data validation and mapping verification.
  • Experience supporting UAT cycles for integration or API-driven solutions.
