Full Job Description
Title:
Airworthiness Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

KBR seeks an Airworthiness Support Engineer to perform activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for mutli-domain systems, and recommend solutions.

The Subject Matter Expert will be also responsible for the following tasks:
  • Development and management of system hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
  • Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
  • Consult with client to define need or problem
  • Supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice
  • Performs activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for mutli-domain systems, and recommend solutions


Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-25%
  • Working Hours: Standard


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Master's Degree in relevant field
  • 15+ years' experience working on Air Force platforms
  • Technical & regulatory experience in achieving airworthiness certification
  • Familiarization with and fulfillment of requirements in AFI 62-601 (USAF Airworthiness Certification), DoDI 5030.61 (DoD Airworthiness Policy), and MIL-STD-882E (System Safety)
  • System configuration management experience
  • Current/active Top Secret/SCI; Current or recent DoD SAP access
  • Subject to a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph


Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Virginia Compensation: $210,000-$240,000

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
