Job DescriptionOverview We are seeking an experienced and highly autonomous
Senior Project Manager, Airport Airfield in
New York, NY to lead large, complex aviation and multi-disciplinary projects. This individual will provide overall leadership to project teams and serve as the primary client point of contact, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will also mentor project managers and technical staff, fostering collaboration and professional development across the team. This role will serve in a staff augmentation capacity for a major terminal development program, providing strategic guidance on airfield design, aircraft maneuvering and operations, gate planning, and construction phasing. The individual will work closely with the client and project stakeholders to ensure all planning, design, and implementation activities align with client requirements and FAA standards.
Your role - Leads the project team in executing all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Advise client in all aspects of airport airfield design and construction particularly the operational impacts of airfield phasing plans.
- Independently develops and manages project scope, schedule, and budget. Reviews and comments on similar work performed by others.
- Develops and implements comprehensive Project Management Plans.
- Work in an environment of multiple consultant firms in one team.
- Manages all financial aspects of the project.
- Approves subconsultant and vendor invoices.
- Proactively identifies and manages budget variances and communicates financial performance to senior management.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for the client.
- Leads contract negotiations.
- Represents the firm and client at public hearings and regulatory meetings.
- Team Leadership & Business Development:
- Leads and directs multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Mentors Project Managers and Associate PMs.
- Identifies new business opportunities and participates in proposals. Grow the current client relationship.
About you - Bachelor's degree is required; Graduate degree is desirable.
- 10+ years professional experience, 5-8 years of direct project management in airport airfield design and construction experience.
- PMP certification, PE license or equivalent is required or must be obtained within one year of appointment.
- Position is based on-site at a major NYC airport.
