Full Job Description
The Deputy Heavy Maintenance Dock Supervisor provides senior-level oversight of aircraft maintenance operations in direct support of the 89th Airlift Wing's executive airlift mission.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist Aircraft Branch Heavy Maintenance Dock Supervisor in coordination with Deputy Aircraft Branch Manager, Aircraft Branch Manager, Production Supervisor, and maintenance training center to provide technical directions to all assigned Heavy Maintenance Dock personnel.
  • Plan, track in Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS) and schedule training for personnel to become proficient in maintaining aircraft assigned to the 89AW.
  • Coordinates Heavy Maintenance efforts with Production Supervisor and Maintenance Operation Control Center (MOCC).
  • Reviews aircraft records to ensure required maintenance has been performed, hourly and calendar tracked events are current, and all associated documentation has been accurately completed.
  • Assists in maintaining discipline, and enforcing company policies, and directives.
  • Distribute disciplinary actions/measures as required to prevent reoccurrence/adverse trends.
  • Thoroughly reviews task cards, CMP's, and associated technical data in preparation for each approaching Iso.
  • Provides oversight and reviews Lead Mechanic preparatory material for accuracy prior to the start of Iso Inspections.
  • Ensure personnel practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Ensure HAZCOM and HAZMAT pharmacy programs are followed according to the applicable directives.
  • Review, evaluate, and take corrective actions based on quality assurance and the contractor officer representatives (CORS) reports and ensures corrective measures are implemented to meet contract requirements, improve maintenance quality, and prevent the development of adverse trends.
  • Ensure aircraft 781 forms documentation and CAMS match.
  • Assist personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components.
  • Ensure repairable parts are promptly processed through repair channels within the required time frame.
  • Ensure ground safety measures are observed in servicing and ground handling (towing) of all aircraft.
  • Provide continuous on-the-job-training (OJT) of maintenance personnel and new employees.
  • Review status of training program and update the special certification roster when required.
  • Receive and assist in cross-utilization training (CUT) of subordinates and is qualified to perform maintenance tasks associated with other classifications.
  • Will assist in providing annual performance reviews for Heavy Maintenance Dock personnel.
  • Perform other duties related to the occupational field as assigned, to include temporary duty (TDY) and travel assignments.
  • Must be flexible to work, day shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift as required.


Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable aircraft and general Heavy Maintenance concepts.
  • A thorough working knowledge of applicable technical publications and ability to accurately interpret technical data are required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant A&P Certification is required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the SAM mission.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and leadership ability are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver's license.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Lead Mechanic for line maintenance with a thorough understanding of the SAM mission, or Aircraft ISO Dock Supervisor is preferred.


Compensation & Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $120K to $127K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
