Responsibilities

Full Job Description

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager provides daily oversight of all functional and operational activities in maintenance of facilities, equipment, and machinery. Ensures all maintenance functions are conducted in accordance with appropriate safety directives, standard operating procedures, and technical manuals.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Ensure maximum efficient operations of facilities, equipment, and machinery through the direction of a technical support staff.
  • Coordinate the flow of maintenance and supervise maintenance status reporting.
  • Recommend equipment modification for upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assign and coordinate the work of maintenance staff and vendors.
  • Review and implement all mechanical specifications and manuals for current operations.
  • Coordinate specifications and procurement of capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for installation of equipment, preventative maintenance, and facility/equipment repair to support manufacturing.
  • Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement procedures.
  • Ensure all direct reports and maintenance employees receive job and safety training. Recommend and initiate personnel actions.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • Minimum ten (10) or more years progressively responsible experience.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and schedules assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required license, certification, qualification, or clearance.
  • Strong electric and mechanical knowledge, including, but not limited to, an understanding of hydraulic circuits, building systems and a working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of machinery, facilities, and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.



Physical Demands:

This classification activity requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop/hanger/flight line maintenance activities to include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions, etc. Ability to use eye hand coordination and manual dexterity. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 70 pounds. Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must have close vision to include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear at the normal range. May require the use of respirator.

Work Environment:

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Compensation Details:

$95,000 - $105,000
