The primary purpose of this position is to To exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate Gas Turbine Engine and Secondary Power Systems workers in accomplishing trade and labor work. Directly supervises the day-to-day work of aircraft engine mechanics, aircraft engine repairers, materials expediters, and equipment cleaners from entry level to journeyman level. Plans work in accordance with production quotas from the DREP process and temporary work requests using priorities, workload, backlog, and available personnel, materials, tools and equipment on a daily basis. Interprets and applies technical orders, operating manuals, blueprints, directives, regulations, policies and procedures, in order to accomplish projects or job orders in accordance with general and or specific priorities, work methods, procedures and policies established by top management, and achieve maximum production at minimum cost. Coordinates with representatives from Production Control, Quality Assurance, Engineering and other pertinent organizations relative lo back shop support, scheduling of work, quality of work, estimating time requirements to accomplish work for which no labor standards exist. rejection problems, work measurement standards and shop equipment and layout need.

- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts. May include overtime and/or compensatory hours.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.

- The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.

3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and /or test equipment common to trades supervised.

5. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
