Full Job Description
Purpose
The Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer performs engineering work including design, analysis, substantiation, certification, drawing interpretation and project management related to maintenance, modification, and repair of transport category aircraft. Provides or coordinates engineering drawings related to electrical systems and components in support of VVIP / VIP aircraft completions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Design and analyze electrical systems and components, typically in support aircraft interior modifications and avionics upgrades (STC projects).
  • Prepare electrical engineering reports, Engineering Authorization (EAs), drawings, analysis, and test plans.
  • Develop cabin electrical modification/installation work instruction, procedures, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and monitor electrical aspects of project schedule with project managers.
  • Monitor and support electrical kit development and parts suppliers (internal and external).
  • Support electrical aspects of proposal development.
  • Coordinate with foreign and domestic approval authorities and their representatives for any necessary assistance and/or approvals.
  • Work within engineering team to delegate and assign work to appropriate team members.
  • Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
  • Maintain close and frequent communication with the Director of Maintenance, notifying him/her of progress and any roadblocks or threats to the project's critical path that
    could impact re-delivery.
  • Deal with Customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner, and to see to it that all personnel behave accordingly.
  • To lead by example at all times, through professional behavior, integrity, commitment to the company and compliance with its policies.
  • Ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable, and clean aircraft, in a timely manner.


Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Reports to the Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical / aerospace engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Electrical Engineering, including experience in the design, certification and modification of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Experience with certification processes and requirements including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), Organizational Design Authority (ODA), and other regulatory certification and airworthiness requirements.


DESIRED
  • Engineering process experience with VIP and VVIP completions for narrow and wide body aircraft.
  • Experience with AutoCad, SolidWorks, or other engineering design software applications.

Working Conditions

The work is performed in an office environment, aircraft hangar, at the departure gate or on the aircraft parking ramp.

  • Requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.

  • Exposure to climate changes is normally experienced in an aviation repair facility.
