About Your Role
The Air Traffic Control Tower Construction Project Manager provides senior-level construction management and owner's representative support for the delivery of the new Air Traffic Control Tower and associated facilities at Tampa International Airport. The Project Manager will provide day-to-day oversight of construction activities and coordinate among HCAA, FAA, designers, contractors, consultants, airport operations, and other stakeholders. The position is responsible for monitoring project scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, risk, documentation, commissioning, and turnover while helping ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with contract requirements and without unacceptable impacts to airport operations.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field required.
Required Certifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required HCAA/TPA security credentials and airport identification badge.
What You'll Need to Get the Job Done
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible construction management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex vertical construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing contractors, designers, inspectors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience managing construction scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, changes, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, change management, and payment processes.
- Ability to work on-site at Tampa International Airport.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Previous project management experience involving an FAA Air Traffic Control Tower or other FAA facility.
- Experience delivering projects within an active commercial airport environment.
- Experience managing technically complex high-rise, aviation, mission-critical, or transportation facilities.
- Knowledge of FAA standards, requirements, coordination, and acceptance processes.
- Experience with ATCT-specific systems and interfaces, including communications, electrical, backup power, life safety, security, elevators, HVAC, and specialized operational systems.
- Experience coordinating construction adjacent to active airfield operations.
- Previous HCAA, FAA, or major commercial airport experience.
- Experience with commissioning, operational readiness, facility activation, and turnover.
- Professional Engineer (PE) - State of Florida, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accredited Professional, or FAA-related airport/ATCT construction training.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction/project management systems.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day construction management and owner's representative support for the ATCT project.
- Coordinate construction activities among HCAA, FAA, contractors, designers, consultants, airport operations, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall construction performance.
- Review contractor schedules, progress reports, RFIs, submittals, change requests, pay applications, and other construction documentation.
- Evaluate construction issues and provide recommendations to HCAA management.
- Monitor potential cost and schedule impacts and assist with development of mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Lead or participate in construction progress, coordination, quality, risk, and issue-resolution meetings.
- Coordinate resolution of design conflicts and field conditions.
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance against contractual requirements.
- Coordinate construction activities that may affect airport or airfield operations.
- Maintain project risk, issue, decision, and action-item tracking.
- Support negotiation and evaluation of change orders and claims.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, substantial completion, punch-list activities, and final acceptance.
- Support FAA coordination and required project acceptance processes.
- Coordinate project turnover, training, O&M documentation, warranties, and closeout.
- Prepare executive-level project status reports for HCAA management.

Salary
$75.00 per hour
Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, and other job-related factors.
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
