About the Role

As an AI Solutions Software Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered tools, connectors, and applications that streamline manufacturing and business operations company-wide. You'll operationalize AI systems for design, manufacturing, and operations, and partner with teams across every department to translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment, you'll design operational AI systems, conduct system audits, author clear technical documentation, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance our AI/ML capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design, build, test, and ship AI-powered tools, connectors, and in-house applications that streamline manufacturing and business operations across the company.
  • Develop and operationalize AI systems for quality control and production automation.
  • Build and maintain robust MLOps and model-evaluation pipelines that ensure our models are reliable, reproducible, and continuously improving.
  • Partner with teams across every department to gather requirements and translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with IT on network resources and hardware utilization.
  • Design operational data pipelines using advanced data architectures and conduct regular system audits.
  • Author clear technical documentation, functional specs, and user guides that meet audit requirements.
  • Respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and continuously recommend improvements to our AI/ML capabilities.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum product development process and support training AI products across the organization.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • 2• 5 years of experience in software development and cross-platform integration using industry best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (4+ years of direct industry experience may be substituted).
  • Solid working knowledge of AI/ML best practices, design patterns, and architecture.
  • Strong backend skills in Python Example: (Fast API, Flask, Django)
  • Proven track record building and consuming APIs, HTTP requests, web sockets, and other communication protocols.
  • Proficiency writing SQL to extract and manipulate data across databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for interfacing effectively between business groups and technical teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a self-starting "make it happen" attitude.
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency across the software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to shipping a finished product.
  • Command of agile best practices: architectural paradigms, code reviews, branching strategies, task management, documentation, and testing.
  • Fluency with GIT version control


DESIRED
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Comprehensive understanding of web servers and web applications
  • Frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
  • Manufacturing or aerospace experience building AI/ML systems for production automation, quality control, or industrial optimization is a major plus.
  • Hands-on experience building MLOps and model-evaluation pipelines.
  • High proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar library/framework.
  • Experience with utilizing AWS Services in the AI/ML space to create full enterprise support systems/software in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services (GovCloud experience is a strong plus).
  • General knowledge of container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, etc.).
  • Experience developing, testing, and deploying software across multi-application environments.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Familiarity Siemens products or other 3D CAD software.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for a startup-paced environment in the fast-moving (figuratively and literally) world of aerospace.
  • Passionate about AI/ML outside of daily job!!!
