Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and client-oriented AI Solutions Expert to join our team in STAFFORD, VA.

Our AI Solutions Expert will ensure all AI initiatives are executed optimally utilizing modern AI/ML methods and strong project management discipline to tackle operational problems through the creation of viable technical pathways. Deep industry understanding and interpersonal relationships are a must to capitalize on emerging opportunities for research, development, testing & evaluation efforts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a principal technical advisor and engineer for AI-centric research and development projects including evaluating model architectures, data requirements, and integration pathways for operational use to ensure Marine Corps and Department of War (DoW) initiatives and capability development activities are aligned with standards and operational priorities, technically sound, and positioned for transition into operational units and/or programs of record.
  • Lead AI initiatives from small-scale prototypes to large-scale integrations across SIGINT, EW, Cyber, and IW domains for sensing, targeting, automation, and decision support, by managing project plans, budgets, and resources through rapid-development sprints and employing open-source frameworks to deliver capabilities.
  • Assess project proposals and Programs of Record (PORs) for technical feasibility and efficiency, providing hands-on support for internal initiatives to bridge MIP and non-MIP capability gaps.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between organizational and external stakeholders to synchronize AI capabilities development and delivery, roadmaps, and performance metrics that inform strategic leadership investment decisions.
  • Identify and prototype ways to embed AI into SIGINT/EW/Cyber/IW workflows, tools, and mission systems by conducting in-depth analyses, developing courses of action, and presenting recommendations to leadership on solutions for difficult and challenging technical deficiencies and problem sets.
  • Implement and oversee risk management processes within the AI domain to identify and mitigate technical, operational, and integration risks.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (+12 years' experience), or Bachelor's Degree (+14 years' experience) in computer science, mathematics, and/or data science/data engineering or related field with 7+ years of verifiable, practical AI/ML engineering experience developing complex AI solutions that address organizational and mission specific operational problems through model development, establishment of data pipelines, systems integration, and operational prototyping beyond and excluding purely academic or theoretical research.
  • Working knowledge of DoW AI-enabled platforms and solutions to include enterprise implementations and operational/ tactical systems at the unclassified and classified levels.
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including model training, evaluation, and deployment, sufficient to engage deeply with technical SMEs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing and providing briefings and decision memos to Senior Government personnel including General Officers, Senior Enlisted, and Senior Executive Service/ Civilians using tools such as the Microsoft Family of Software and Tools Office, Visio, SharePoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks with keen attention to detail, functioning effectively both independently and within a team


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or leading large multi-organization interdisciplinary technical teams.
  • Experience with DoD experimentation and RDT&E initiatives, rapid acquisition, or transition processes.
  • Familiarity with Navy/Marine Corps systems, operations, and organizations
  • Prior military service or direct support to operational units.
  • Experience applying AI to technical intelligence mission sets.


Clearance Requirements:

Must have current Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. May have a need to access Special Access Program information and be willing to submit to a CI polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically capable of supporting field exercises, including lifting up to 50 lbs., traversing rugged terrain, and traveling via military tactical vehicles, ships, and aircraft.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary/ desk position 50% of the time, occasionally and communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve clearly delivering briefings/ presentations.
