Job Purpose & ScopeThe Artificial Intelligence (AI) Risk Analyst role contributes to the Bank's AI Risk Management program by collaborating with Corporate Risk Management directors, senior leaders and business unit managers to ensure AI development, AI implementation and AI monitoring conform to the standards set forth by both the Bank's AI development and Risk Management framework and evolving regulatory guidelines. Serves as the central coordinator across multiple risk disciplines, including Information Security, Third Party Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Compliance and Operational Risk Management to ensure AI risks across the Bank are properly identified, assessed, monitored, documented, inventoried and remediated.
Essential Job Functions- Supports the end-to-end management of the AI inventory, ensuring all AI use cases are accurately documented and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Serves as the central intake point for risk review of internally developed and third-party AI use cases. Communicates and escalates matters of significant AI risk to senior management.
- Partners with Third-Party Risk Management to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information required for conducting risk reviews and ongoing monitoring.
- Facilitates AI risk review and assessments by coordinating input from subject matter experts in Corporate Risk Management and other business users.
- Conducts AI use case tiering, consolidates risk review findings into pre-production conditions, prepares governance material and coordinates reviews and approvals through the Bank's governing bodies.
- Partners with the independent Model Risk Management (MRM) function to coordinate AI model validation activities and incorporate validation outcomes into the AI Risk Management process.
- Provides oversight of internally developed AI solutions through participation in the AI Working Group (AI-WG) to ensure adherence to industry best practices, integration of governance controls, and alignment with responsible AI principles throughout the AI development lifecycle.
- Develops and maintains executive and manager level risk related reporting and dashboards, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Coordinates updates to the AI inventory for material changes, enhancements, and decommission events. Contributes to the development and maintenance of documentation and monitoring standards, and governance related workflows.
- Supports performance monitoring for AI use cases outside MRM scope, including definition of metrics, thresholds and escalation triggers to report performance degradation, unintended outcomes, or emerging risks post-production deployment.
- Assists Information Security and Third-Party Risk Management in identification and escalation of unauthorized use cases.
- Partners with Risk Data Science and Engineering to analyze risk and monitor data to identify trends and support identification of potential areas for remediation or governance focus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Hand-on experience delivering or governing Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions within the financial services industry, fintechs or a highly regulated industry.
- Advanced level understanding of AI technologies, models, third-party and operational risks in the use of AI systems.
- In-depth knowledge of AI-related standards and best practices, such as the NIST AI Risk Management framework.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly self-directed with the ability to build subject-matter expertise rapidly in emerging risk areas, especially in the financial services industry.
- Ability to translate highly complex or technical information into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prepare written deliverables and presentations for board and management committees, senior leaders, and business unit managers.
- Strong ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with multiple business groups, corporate areas, auditors, and regulators.
- Ability to lead and operate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment, with exacting deadlines.
- Strong project coordination skills and ability to manage multiple work streams and deliverables.
- Ability to travel as needed for business purposes.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and at least 2+ years of experience in computer science, information technology, economics, finance, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a related quantitative field; or commensurate work experience, required.
- Master's degree and 3+ years of experience with AI/ML, preferred.
