Job Title:AI Product Pilots Tech Lead

Location(s): Chantilly, VA

Job Summary:

The AI Coding Tools Consultant is responsible for enabling effective adoption, evaluation, and ongoing support of AI-powered coding tools within the organization. This role supports the expansion of the AI Skills Hub and contributes to the development and integration of AI agent capabilities.

The consultant serves as a bridge between developers, product teams, and business users-ensuring tools are well understood, properly managed, and aligned to enterprise standards. Leveraging support from the AI Coding Tools Workstream, AI Organizational Change Management (OCM), Training & Communications Workstream, and Technology Enablement AI Program leadership, key responsibilities include pilot and production readiness, user onboarding, training delivery, developer support, technical writing, knowledge management, and hands-on contribution to AI agent development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • AI Coding Tools Evaluation, Pilot & Production Readiness
    • Partner with the AI Coding Tools Workstream members to evaluate emerging AI coding tools and platforms.
    • Support pilot program planning and execution, including use case identification and success criteria.
    • Assess tools for enterprise readiness (security, scalability, compliance, usability).
    • Facilitate transition from pilot to production, including readiness assessments and rollout planning.
    • Maintain lifecycle oversight of approved tools, including updates, enhancements, and retirements.
  • AI Skills Hub Enablement & Expansion
    • Contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of the AI Skills Hub for agentic agents.
  • User Onboarding, Training & Communications
    • Collaborate with the OCM and Training & Communications Workstream to design onboarding experiences for AI coding tools adoption.
    • Deliver AI Coding tool training sessions, workshops, and role-based learning programs, partnering with AI Program courseware development, training delivery, and AI coding tool/agentic specialists.
    • Guide development of self-service learning content (guides, videos, simulations, quick-start materials).
    • Support enterprise-wide communications related to AI coding tools adoption.
    • Measure and improve adoption through feedback, engagement metrics, and user insights.
  • Developer Support & Enablement
    • Provide direct support to developers and technical users adopting AI coding tools.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to usage, integrations, and performance.
    • Guide effective usage patterns, including prompt design and productivity optimization.
    • Partner with engineering teams to embed AI-assisted development practices into workflows.
  • AI Agent Development & Integration
    • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of AI agents supporting development workflows.
    • Collaborate with AI Program leadership on agent strategy and implementation.
    • Prototype agent-based solutions to improve productivity and automation.
    • Stay current on evolving agent frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Technical Writing & Documentation
    • Work with AI Program's OCM, Training and Communications Workstream to develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including:
      • Tool usage guides
      • Implementation and onboarding documentation
      • Best practice playbooks
      • Troubleshooting and support articles
    • Ensure consistency and accessibility of documentation across platforms.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to keep content current and relevant.
  • Knowledge Management
    • Establish and maintain a centralized knowledge repository for AI coding tools.
    • Capture lessons learned, reusable patterns, and successful use cases.
    • Implement governance practices for content quality, versioning, and accessibility.
    • Promote knowledge sharing across communities of practice and cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills
    • Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI-based tools, or similar).
    • Understanding of software development practices, tools, and environments (e.g., Git, APIs, CI/CD).
    • Knowledge of prompt engineering and AI-assisted development workflows.
    • Experience or exposure to AI agent development, orchestration frameworks, or automation tools.
  • Professional Skills
    • Strong evaluation and analytical skills for emerging technologies.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and business audiences.
    • Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
    • Ability to support and enable developers and cross-functional users.
  • Knowledge & Experience
