Full Job Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview.

The rapid evolution of AI creates a significant gap between theoretical regulatory frameworks and the practical reality of engineering workflows. You will solve this problem by translating high-level strategies into actionable, verified policies that technical teams can implement without friction. By serving as the operational link between leadership and execution, you ensure that EchoStar's AI documentation ecosystem is practical, compliant, and built for scale.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives):
  • Development of scalable templates and decision trees that enable technical teams to manage compliance requirements independently
  • Creation of actionable checklists and standard operating procedures that close the gap between regulatory requirements and daily AI operations
  • Integration of practical governance standards into development lifecycles to maintain technical momentum and delivery speed
  • Mapping of clear data decisions to documentation to eliminate ambiguity for engineering and data science teams during handoffs
  • Maintenance of a version-controlled central policy repository that serves as the accessible single source of truth for the organization
  • Application of AI-enhanced auditing tools to monitor governance standards and sustain velocity across technical teams

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring):
  • Critical experience navigating AI and Data Governance or technical policy within high-growth technology environments
  • Proficiency in identifying specific metadata, logging requirements, and testing protocols needed to align governance with global regulatory standards
  • The ability to translate complex frameworks, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework or the Colorado AI Act, into clear operational standards
  • Expert collaboration skills to act as a primary mediator between legal, risk, and technical execution teams
  • AI Literacy and the application of automated tools to design templates and scoring rubrics for performance auditing
  • Strategic expertise in developing logical classification schemes and version-controlled documentation ecosystems for non-legal audiences

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Policy, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Minimum Experience: 5-8 years of experience in AI/Data Governance, Technical Policy, or a Compliance role
  • Required Technical Skills: Must have experience with:
    • Policy drafting and documentation version control
    • NIST AI Risk Management Framework (RMF)
    • Data lifecycle mapping and quality gate implementation
