Position Overview

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to support the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Washington, DC. The AI Engineer will be responsible for the development, training, logic, and configuration of artificial intelligence functions that support EEOC's business and technology needs.

The successful candidate will design, develop, test, train, configure, and maintain AI-enabled capabilities. This position requires hands-on experience translating business requirements into reliable AI functions, configuring decision logic, improving model performance, and integrating AI solutions into enterprise applications and workflows.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, train, test, deploy, and maintain artificial intelligence and machine-learning functions.
  • Design and configure AI logic, workflows, rules, algorithms, and decision-making processes.
  • Translate EEOC business and operational requirements into functional AI solutions.
  • Prepare, process, validate, and manage data used to train and evaluate AI models.
  • Configure AI functions to support automation, data analysis, document processing, search, classification, forecasting, and other approved use cases.
  • Evaluate AI model performance, accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness.
  • Tune and retrain AI models to improve performance and address changing business requirements.
  • Develop prompts, business rules, guardrails, and response logic for generative AI or natural-language-processing solutions, as applicable.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with existing applications, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Test AI solutions for accuracy, functionality, security, bias, and unintended outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot AI models, configurations, integrations, and data-quality issues.
  • Document AI architecture, training methods, configuration settings, decision logic, testing results, and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, business analysts, and EEOC stakeholders.
  • Support demonstrations, user acceptance testing, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of AI-enabled functions.
  • Apply federal security, privacy, accessibility, records-management, and responsible-AI requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding AI tools, platforms, models, and implementation approaches.
  • Prepare technical reports, status updates, and other required project documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with the development, training, logic, and configuration of AI functions.
  • Experience developing, training, testing, deploying, or supporting artificial intelligence and machine-learning solutions.
  • Experience designing and configuring AI algorithms, decision logic, workflows, rules, or automated functions.
  • Experience preparing and validating data for AI model training and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, or related AI technologies.
  • Experience evaluating, tuning, and improving AI model accuracy and performance.
  • Ability to integrate AI functions with applications, APIs, databases, or enterprise platforms.
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, and documenting AI-enabled solutions.
  • Understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, model governance, bias mitigation, and responsible-AI practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and federal customer representatives.
  • Ability to work in Washington, DC, as required by the contract.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting the EEOC or another federal government agency.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions within a federal or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI and machine-learning platforms.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, APIs, machine-learning frameworks, large language models, or generative-AI technologies.
  • Familiarity with federal requirements related to cybersecurity, privacy, accessibility, records management, and responsible use of AI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Work Location

This position is based in Washington, DC. The selected candidate must be able to meet all customer-directed work-location and scheduling requirements.
