Position Description:

CGI is seeking an AI .NET Developer to join our team and build intelligent enterprise applications powered by Generative AI and Large Language Models. In this role, you will combine modern .NET development with AI technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready solutions while leveraging AI-assisted development practices.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office and/or the client office a minimum of four days per week, subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Design and develop AI-enabled enterprise applications using .NET technologies.
- Build intelligent assistants, copilots, and AI-powered business applications.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development while ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.
- Integrate enterprise systems with Azure OpenAI and other AI platforms.
- Develop APIs and microservices using ASP.NET Core.
- Implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents, and Semantic Kernel solutions.
- Develop scalable backend services and integrate with enterprise databases.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, business stakeholders, and DevOps teams.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to AI development best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-8+ years of experience developing applications with .NET technologies.
- Hands-on experience building AI and Generative AI applications.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET 8/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, REST APIs, Microservices, and Minimal APIs.
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Vector Databases.
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and cloud-native architecture.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Assets
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Search, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Graph APIs, SignalR, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or Microsoft Power Platform integration.
- Experience with Git, Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of AI governance, Responsible AI, data privacy, prompt evaluation, model monitoring, AI observability, enterprise integration patterns, and API management.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000-$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
