s a Lead DevOps Engineer reporting to the AVP – Systems and Network Administration, you'll play a critical role in building and operating intelligent automation platforms, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks that support mission-critical systems, engineering workflows, and operational tooling across Nasdaq.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and continuously improve AI agents that automate operational, engineering, and support workflows.
- Develop agent orchestration frameworks using large language models (LLMs), tool integrations, structured workflows, and workflow-based automation patterns.
- Build and maintain automation pipelines that combine AI reasoning and decision-making with deterministic systems, controls, and operational processes.
- Implement Python-based services supporting AI agent execution, control, and integration with internal platforms including APIs, ITSM systems, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines for AI-enabled services and automation platforms.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex AI and automation issues while identifying opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort through agentic automation.
- Document architectures and workflows, research emerging AI technologies, and develop proofs of concept to evaluate new capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level Python development experience with strong knowledge of automation and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, working with Git, and integrating systems through REST APIs.
- Proficiency in YAML and JSON.
- Experience building AI agents, autonomous systems, or AI-driven automation solutions, with familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and tool-calling frameworks.
- Experience combining AI decision logic with deterministic automation and designing event-driven, workflow-based systems.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and collaborate effectively across global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code practices, Ansible, or other configuration management tools.
- Experience with AWS cloud technologies and/or AWS professional certifications would be considered an asset.
- Experience with JavaScript, databases, and modern application development technologies.
- Experience working within financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
This position will be located in New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, or Denver and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
