AI Architect
Specialist II - ML Engineering
You will be the technical visionary and architect for our Workday AI Transformation practice, the critical bridge between emerging AI capabilities and production-grade delivery.
The opportunity:
• Technical Vision & Practice Strategy
• Define Technical Direction: Set the architectural vision for agentic AI, LLMs, and ecosystem solutions across the Workday practice.
• Integrate Ecosystem Solutions: Lead the architecture strategy for combining Workday-native tools (Illuminate, Extend, Agent System of Record) and partner solutions (e.g., Paradox, Evisort, Sana) across complex client environments.
• Build AI Governance: Define governance, risk, and compliance frameworks to help client HR and Finance leaders safely adopt and scale Workday AI.
• Productize Service Offerings: Partner with practice leaders to translate emerging AI patterns into repeatable consulting assets, accelerators, and deployment services. Client Assessments & Hands-On Configuration
• Lead AI Readiness Assessments: Evaluate client and internal Workday environments across configuration, data structure, and business process readiness.
• Configure Workday-Native AI: Hands-on configuration of Workday-native AI and agentic capabilities within client engagements.
• Translate Insights to Strategy: Convert assessment findings and hands-on configuration work into actionable, prioritized transformation roadmaps for clients. Solution Architecture & Go-To-Market
• Drive GTM Technical Architecture: Partner with sales and practice leaders to architect AI components for client proposals, executive strategy sessions, and live demonstrations.
• Build Practice Accelerators: Design and build AI-driven assets and accelerators that differentiate our Workday deployment and optimization services. AI Delivery Tooling & Practice Acceleration
• Automate Consulting Workflows: Design and deploy AI-enabled delivery tooling to automate repetitive consulting tasks, data migration, integration development, testing, and tenant audits.
• Embed AI in Practice Workflows: Work directly with functional and technical leads to embed AI directly into active delivery workflows.
• Establish Architecture Standards: Define technical standards, reference architectures, reusable prompt/integration patterns, and responsible AI guardrails for the practice.

What you need:
• 8+ Years in the Workday Ecosystem: Deep experience in Workday technical and functional architecture across HCM, Payroll, Time & Absence, and/or Finance.
• Consulting & Professional Services Background: Proven track record in client delivery, solution architecture, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
• Hands-On Workday Configuration: Demonstrated ability to configure Workday directly
• Applied Agentic & LLM Knowledge: Strong understanding of agentic system patterns-tool use, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), context management, memory, and guardrails-applied to enterprise data.
• Production Deployment Track Record: Experience taking AI/automation tools or complex Workday integrations from initial prototype through to production deployment and maintenance.
• Assessment & Roadmap Capability: Experience conducting process or technical assessments and translating findings into executive-ready recommendations.
• Preferred
• Background in reinforcement learning, tool-use, or multi-agent systems
• Experience or strong familiarity with Workday-native AI capabilities, Workday Extend, and API integrations
• Experience publishing or speaking at industry or academic AI venues
• Familiarity with Workday's evolving AI capabilities and partner ecosystem
• Background as an AI/ML engineer or data scientist, or close partnership with those functions
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote-US
Compensation Range: $138,000-$207,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
